Why medical grade?

The first question I always get when it comes to the products I use is “Are they expensive?”

My answer, can you really put a price on your face? You can, but you shouldn’t compromise the quality of the ingredients in your products you use.

I realize there are factors that go into why we purchase the items we do. The largest factor being budget. You don’t have to break the bank but if you think about how much money you probably spend trying to find a product that does what it is described to do and how much you waste when you’re not seeing results, then it may tally up to what you could have spent to do it right the first time.

I am no stranger to the “I just need a good cream” and walking out of Sephora, Ulta even Target having spent $100 on products that sounded promising. You know, like seeing Kylie Jenner promote her skincare line but not promote the plastic surgeon she works with is misleading. Yeah, that is the truth. That walnut scrub is not responsible for her smooth, seemlingly flawless skin. I am not knocking her, but you need all the facts. So let me give you mine, what I am using and why. You can then decide what is best for you from there.

I like many others have no aesthetics background. Everything I know about skincare was information I have obtained over the years from receiving professional facials and skincare treatments. I have always been invested in my skin since a young age. My mother always said “wash your face”. It was wash, tone and moisturize. I did that, since the age of 15. it was rare if I missed a night of cleansing my face. College years I would be drunk, yes not my finer moments, and I would still remember to take care of my skin before passing out. It is most definitely a habit and one I wouldn’t change.

True story, I am blessed with great skin, however, just because I have “good” skin it doesn’t exclude me from having to take care of it to ensure that it stays that way.

Last year I met Brittney the owner of LIV Aesthetics Med spa and she’s changed my face since. How? Well for starters- BOTOX. Yes, I get botox injections. I have my forehead area and frown lines injected every 4-6 months. (NOT during pregnancy) It’s changed the game for me and I feel 10 years younger. My face isn’t frozen solid, I have movement. I wanted a natural amount to help decrease movement. Movement that causes the fine lines to form and lead to deep set wrinkles. Prevention is key.

I also get a professional facial every 4-6 weeks with Jacklyn Rose skincare. I know this combination is what works for me. I say that because often I share what I do or use and it’s not for everyone. I strongly suggest getting a professional assesment of your skin and regimen for you.

Between the two I have learned a lot about my skin and great products. Now that I am no longer pregnant I wanted to get on a regimen of medical-grade skincare. I consulted with Brittney and she suggested what to use based off my skin and my desired results. Results, yes that is also key. Prevention and great results. Which leads me to the point of this blog, why medical-grade skincare lines are better than OTC.

For starters you can not get medical-grade skincare on AMAZON or Target. Sorry, if you have chances are it’s not the real deal. Almost all medical-grade or pharmaceutical grade skincare lines require a contract to sell from a med spa or dermatologist/plastics office. Why? To protect the integirty of their products of course. For example a company can label a product and say “15% Vitamin C” when really it’s only 1% active ingredients. That’s the main difference-ACTIVE ingredients. To get the results you want you need to know the stuff you’re using actually works.

I started a little over a week ago with LIV AESTHETICS private line and IS Clinical. I purchased both from LIV and I am LOVING the results I see already. How can I say that so soon? Because it’s true! My skin felt dull and I needed some rejuvination! Below is my current line up and prices. You can purchase your own regimen with Livaesthetics, just call! I have linked the webpage for your convenience.

Spoiler alert there is no fountain of youth there is only great skincare and proper care of your skin.

xx
