Glowing skin, is always in
Glowing skin, is always in! That statement is so true. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a great genetics when it comes to my skin. My skin type is Normal to Dry on a average day and since becomming pregnant, I definitely have had to give it a little more TLC. Thank you, hormones- ha ha. I wanted to share with you all my current product line up for my skincare routine.
When it comes to choosing a face wash, I always look for something that has more of a creamy consistency. I have tried oil washes and serum washes but they don’t do it for me. I prefer one that lathers up nicely and removes my makeup easily without harsh chemicals. That’s why I LOVE- First Aid Beauty (FAB). The whole product line up is great, however, my two favorites are, the face cleanser and ultra repair cream. I use the face cleanser both morning and night. When I am washing off a face full of makeup, I always wash twice. First, to remove the inital layer of makeup. Second, to ensure I have cleansed away any additional dirt and debris from the everyday pollution. Now, every skin type is different and I am no expert, however, this is what works for me and this face wash is gentle enough to allow me to do the second washing. Twice a week, no more than three times, I exfoliate with Eminence Strawberry Rubarb Dermafoliant. The product is gentle and yet exfoliating. A common misconception is that your exfoliant should be super rough or grainy, wrong! You don’t want to tear apart that beautiful face! A nice gentle exfoliant will do the trick.
After washing your face the next step would be to tone. I don’t have the toner shown in my photo line up, because the truth is I often skip that step in the winter. I don’t like to dry out my skin too much. NOW, the right toner won’t dry you out but this is based off my own skintype and what works for me. I can recommed Michael Todd Beauty- antioxidant toner. I do use that one occasionally and I love it.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! I can’t say enough how important it is to use face lotions or creams and keep that skin hydrated. Equally important is to ensure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day! This is a major component to great skin care. That’s another long blog for another day- ha ha. I use different serums and creams for AM and PM. After washing my face in the morning, I use Bare Minerals Skin Longevity vital serum and follow up with FAB ultra repair cream. I always use my eye treatment AM and PM. Juice Beauty stem cellular anti-wrinkle line is my go-to. I started using anti-wrinkle skincare in my mid 20’s and I am HAPPY I did. Trying to slow down the hands of time on my face as much as possible. For the evening, I use Juice Beauty’s stem cellular serum and moisturizer.
Breakouts? No problem! While pregnant its important to look for products that don’t contain retinol or salicylic acid. So, my usual breakout remedies had to be refined. Thanks to my pregnancy app, I was able to find safe products quickly. Now, if you can get past the smell, this drying cream from Mario Badescu works great! I use it to spot treat any breakouts that I may encounter and it works! YAY! I prefer to use this at night and sleep with the cream on. Typically when I wake up the pimple is either gone, ready to pop, or significantly smaller. HALLELUJAH!
Last, BUT certainly NOT least important, lip care. After all that skincare don’t forget about your lips, they count too. I make sure to exfoliate my lips at least two times week and follow up with a lip treatment. I bet you didn’t know that petroleum based products will just dry out your lips more. They create the illusion that your lips are hydrated when in-fact, what it does is suffocate your lips and pores. So, look for a lip care product that is non-petroleum based. This is one of the many reasons why I love Mizzi Cosmetics so much. I am obsessed with their whipped lip scrub. It taste, yes taste amazing. It’s made with all natural ingredients, so feel free to lick it off, literally! HAHA, actually, you should scrub your lips and then gently remove with a warm wash cloth, that is ideal. I would bake some cookies for that sweet tooth instead. Follow up with one of their many amazing lip luxe balms and you’re all set! Fresh face and smooth healthy lips! For the holiday’s try the limited edition scrub and balm- peppernilla. Perfect stocking stuffers.
Well, there you have it, my current skincare regimen. If you decide to try any of these products, I would love to hear your feedback! Comment on the blog and share on social media with #LIFESTYLEDBYASHLIINSPO
